Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia Announces Democratic
Women’s Health Champions in the 11th House District Special Election
Richmond – Today, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia announces its Democratic Women’s Health Champions for the special election in the 11th House District to fill the seat that will be vacated by the resignation of Delegate Onzlee Ware.
“As the leading advocate of Planned Parenthood health centers in the state, we are committed to educating voters and supporting candidates who will be champions for women’s health and rights in the House of Delegates,” said Cianti Stewart-Reid, executive director, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia.
Below are Women’s Health Champions for the 11th House District Democratic primary with a statement about their candidacy.
“Sam Rasoul is a small business owner with years of management and leadership experience. With a background working for a nonprofit health care firm, Sam knows the importance of expanding health care access across the state and ending the attack on women’s health and rights.”
“Councilman Court Rosen has worked to represent the people of Roanoke serving as vice-mayor. As a delegate, Court would continue to fight for the families of his community and stand up to protect and advance women’s access to quality, affordable health care.”
“As a doctor, Councilman David Trinkle understands the importance of ensuring that all Virginians have access to quality, affordable health care and will bring an experienced and knowledgeable voice to Richmond. He strongly believes women’s health decisions should be between a woman and her doctor – not politicians.”
“Trish Boyd-White is an activist and small business owner dedicated to serving her community. She has been a vigorous fighter for justice and equality and would stand up for women’s health and reproductive freedom in the House of Delegates.”
“We are happy to announce the Women’s Health Champions for the 11th House District Democratic primary,” said Stewart-Reid. “These candidates would all be strong advocates for women’s health and reproductive rights in the House of Delegates, and we look forward to working with the next representative from this district.”
