| 2012 day of action: Thursday, February 23 |
the background
The Virginia legislature has changed dramatically this year, in part to recent election results. The House is now firmly in the hands of anti-choice delegates, and the Senate is made of a 20-20 split, with Lt. Governor Bolling (R-VA) breaking the tie. The result is a legislature that's extremely hostile to women, our health care needs and personal privacy.
Because of this shift, we, as advocates, must change as well. This year, it is our hope to fully leverage our most valuable resource-YOU-in your community. We will need all hands on deck to defeat the egregious attacks on informed consent, abortion access, HPV vaccine access, and personhood.

-Training on the issues -Lobbying your legislators -Pro-choice visibility events -Talking to supporters around the state about key threats to reproductive health care -and more
