Pro-Choice License Plates
Great news! Our 'Trust Women, Respect Choice' license plate passed the Virginia General Assembly after a long battle and was signed into law by Gov. McDonnell on April 13, 2010. The legislation authorizing the plate became law on July 1, 2010. We are now ready to turn in our required 350 pre-ordered applications and will do this week!
As a result, we are no longer accepting orders for the 'Trust Women, Respect Choice' license plate. Once the applications are turned in to the DMV, it will take several months to produce the plates. Once, the pre-ordered plates are produced, the Planned Parenthood plate will be available statewide, like any other specialty license plate.

DMV Timeline for Issuing New Special License Plates
| Receive prepaid applications, logo use agreement, and plate design. Review and approve plate design. |

| Submit plate design to vendor and receive prototype. |
6 to 8 weeks |
| Emboss the prototype and receive approvals from DMV,the sponsor, and State Police (if necessary). |
8 weeks |
| Order and receive the sheeting for printing. |
8 to 10 weeks |
| Applications processed, plates produced and mailed to customer. |
6 weeks |
| Nine months is an approximate timeframe for 'best case' scenario with no delays. |
