During every legislative session, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Virginia (PPAV) lobbies members of the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates to protect and expand access to reproductive health care. This Reproductive Rights Report documents legislators' votes on key issues during the 2009 General Assembly session. We hope that you will use this information to communicate with your legislators about their votes and your support for reproductive rights.

The votes of Senate and House members are recorded using the legislative issues identified within the report. Please note that there are few recorded Senate votes because most bills did not make it before the full Senate.

Also, keep in mind that a legislator's performance should not be judged solely on a few selected votes. You should also consider other factors such as public statements, performance in committees, legislation introduced, and constituent services.
